Support and technique: watercolor on cardboard. Made with the "frost technique" to obtain the crystallized effect in some areas of the pictorial surface, this process consisted of placing the still fresh painting in the actual cold and then working on it subsequently. The "frost" was created by the painter Pancaldi towards the early sixties and refined throughout his career until reaching the extraordinary results of the 80s/90s.
Author: Gaetano Pancaldi (Piumazzo di Castelfranco Emilia, 1922-2014). The representation of nature and daily life were among the artist's favorite subjects, who was very active and well-known in the Modena area due to his activity as a poster designer for the Communist Party of Modena and the numerous exhibitions he held.
