Delightful sea landscape in impressionist style.
Work by the Spanish painter and antiquarian José Herranz. Signed.
Part of a large collection of Spanish paintings we recently purchased.

Biography of the painter:
José Henandez Herranz was an antiques dealer and painter active during the second half of the 20th century in Madrid, for decades owner of an antiques shop in the Rastro (the local antiques market).
Intense light, bright colors, and a gentle vision of the world often full of flowers are the distinctive features of his paintings. A pupil of Vicente Segura and influenced by 20th century Spanish painting led by Sorolla, José Herranz was a refined and delicate painter of impressionist taste, little known but of great depth.

Biography of the painter:
José Antonio Herranz from Madrid (Spain), student of Vicente Segura, Spanish painter and antique dealer active during the second half of the 20th century. Working at the "Rastro" (the local flea marked) in the city center, he was also a fine landscape painter. Bright light, brilliant colors and a delicate vision of the world, often rich in flowers, were his trademarks. Like many Spanish painters of the 20th century, he was influenced by Sorolla, José Herranz spent his life selling antiques and painting for passion, he was not very famous but his works are testimony of a delicate and creative soul. You can find many of his paintings in our store.
