Biography of the painter:
Vicente Segura (1930-2015), was born in Nador in Spanish Morocco to a family of artists, he was in fact the nephew of the painters Augustin and Enrique, the latter particularly known for his career as a portraitist of Francisco Franco (biography available on Wikipedia) .From 1944 to 1947 he worked in the studio of the master Mariano Bertuchi, a painter who worked mainly in Morocco.
In 1948 he moved to Madrid to continue his pictorial training and entered the Real Academia de Bellas Artes of San Fernando where he was a pupil of José Manaut Viglietti, in turn a disciple of JoaquÃn Sorolla at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos in Valencia.
Like many Spanish painters of his era, the influence of Sorolla is evident in his production and due to his origins the orientalist theme is also recurrent.
He finished his training in 1953 and since then he has exhibited in numerous exhibitions mainly in the Spanish capital, he died in 2015.
