Detail of a mixed media painting on wood by the painter Gaetano Pancaldi (1922-2014) from Piumazzo di Castelfranco Emilia depicting a mother with her son worked with the "frost technique" which consisted of placing the still fresh painting in the cold to obtain the "ice" effect on the surface.
The representation of nature and daily life were among the artist's favorite subjects, whowas very active and well-known in the Modena area due to his work as a poster designer and the numerous exhibitions he held.A tireless painter, Pancaldi worked with unchanged passion until recent years.
